The Pokhran Nuclear test was held on 11th May 1998 and it was a matter of pride for all the citizens of India. 5 nuclear tests were successfully tested on this day in Pokhran, Rajasthan.

- From 11 May 1998 to 13 May 1998, India successfully conducted five nuclear bomb tests Pokhran, Rajasthan and our country became the 6th country to join the nuclear club. The operation was named as “Operation Shakti”
- On this day, the Defense Research and Development Organization also successfully tested a short-range missile named as “Trishul”.
- The first two-seater plane Hansa-3 which was developed by National Aerospace Laboratories, used for flight training and personal flying.
- The National Technology Day is considered as a symbol pursuit for technological creativity and various events are organized in engineering colleges and other technical institutions to celebrate the day.
11th May is much more than the anniversary of a historical event like technology, it is a pathway to the future. The innovators are awarded on this day and a National Technology Award is given by the President of India to the companies and individuals for their contribution to science.
